DANUBE SALMON SEASON OPENING ON 15.TH OF NOVEMBER!!(published: 04.11.2011)
The toughest and most rewarded type of fishing in Slovenia. This year management of Fishing club Bled allows 3 Huchen to Catch and take, but only with special "Take" licence. This licence cost is 80 euro, and Catch˛& release 50 euro. After 3 fish are taken only Catch & release licence can be purchased. This year few fish around 15 kg have been spotted and a record breaking Danube Salmon of our club is expected.

END OF BROWN TROUT SEASON(published: 19.09.2011)
Another couple of days and fishing club Bled closes the Brown trout season.
Brown trout will start to spawn and this is the time when we have to allow it to finish it`s reproduction cycle.
Sava Bohinjka is still open for fly fishing untill 14.th of November when Huchen season starts. Untill then fishing during warm and sunny days can be a pure joy, especially with dry fly.

Hot days predict the best days for fishing with dry flies. Due to elevated temperatures, the river is best fished in the early morning and late evening when the fish become more active.
The oxygen content in water is low, so we have to make sure that the fish will be in perfect condition when we return them back into the water.

GRAYLING SEASON(published: 04.06.2011)
With the opening of the protected area at a bridge in Bodešče, Sava Bohinjka grayling season begins. This area serves to protect the largest Grayling spawning area and allows natural spawning fish without disturbing and later also prevent walking on fish eggs. Area is open at a time when fish roe have already hatched. Fishing club Bled with introducing grayling tries to strike a balance in the Sava Bohinjka as it once was in a time when Cormorants, pollution, flooding, impact of tourism and over fishing has not yet had any impact on the stock of fish species. Besides all these factors a proper release of small grayling can improve the population in the river. Even a quick look at Grayling tells us that this fish need more time to gain oxygen and obtain power. Small Graylings mouth take longer to absorbe enough amount of water pumped to the gills and supply body with oxygen. Before release the fisherman should help fish, which does not have enough power to be returned to her own neighborhood, with short strokes against the flow will add oxygen. It is also necessary before contact with fish to pre wet hands. Fishman, who is not skilled enough to hold a fish should use net, which will cause less damage than strong squeeze of the fish. Using net is otherwise not approwed by professionals. However, it is considered that all fish regardless of species should be handled only by standing in the water. This will prevent damage of fish if fisherman unfortunatly releases the fish on hard surface instead in the water.

1.st of May markes the best days for spinning on Lake Bled. Pike is hungry after spawning and needs to feed more aggressive. Allso Lake trout is interesting for spinning before lake begins to warm up and forces trout into deep and oxygene richest parts of the lake.

SEASON OPENING ON SAVA BOHINJKA AND LAKE BLED(published: 22.03.2011)
1.st of April is opening day for fishing on the waters of fishing club Bled. Licence prices and regulations for Sava Bohinjka are the same as last season only regulations for Carp fishing are changed. The new regulations are added below, next to the movie which can be helpful while fly fishing in Sava Bohinjka early spring. Management of fishing club Bled wishes all visitors of our beautiful waters tight lines and a lot of memorable moments in nature in fishing season 2011.
LAST DAYS OF HUCHEN SEASON(published: 07.02.2011)

First half of the Huchen season is behind us already and despite some higher water levels some nice fish were caught and released. Manegement of fishing club Bled wishes all site visitors a Happy New Year and lot of beautiful moments spent on Bled lake and Sava Bohinjka.

AUTUMN(published: 08.09.2010)
A bit colder days change the color of leaves and make the most colorfull suroundings you can possible amagine. Fish will start to feed as much as they can and prepare for winter days.
On Bled lake is the best time to catch big Pike, Carp, Wells catfish and Walleye and last chance in this month to catch a trophy Lake trout.
On Sava Bohinjka the season for Brown trout is coming to an end, but best days for fly fishing for grayling are still to come and will last on warmer days towards the start of Danube salmon season which will start on 15.th of November
THE WELLS CATFISH(published: 01.07.2010)
Today our club opens the fishing season for our biggest lake fish, the Wells Catfish. These fish can grow over 2 meter length and weigh well over 100 Kilograms. The Wells Catfish has finished the spawning period, and the section in front of villa Bled is now open for fishing.
GRAYLING(published: 28.05.2010)
1.st of June is the date when the season for Grayling starts and when our club opens the areas where Grayling and Huchen were spawning. Small fish have allready hatch from fish eggs and fly fishermen can fish the whole stretch of our beautiful river. Population of Grayling is on the top level and fly fishing with dry flies is possible during the whole day. Tight lines!
THE START OF FISHING SEASON(published: 13.03.2010)
Winter is slowly saying goodbye and some fish species like Lake trout, Brown trout and Rainbow trout have finished spawning. 1.st of April is the date when fishing club Bled opens a fishing season in Bled lake for Lake trout and in Sava Bohinjka on Rainbow and Brown trout which have allready started to feed on the surface on warm sunny days. Our waters are full of hungry fish and friendly locals are allready expecting the first fishermen. Welcome!
On Sunday,15. November was the official opening of Danube salmon season.
In just 3 days we caught 7 fish (leagal size is 80cm+).The largest measured 107cm,but we know there are bigger fish in our river.
In desire to bring this fish closer to all fishermen who cant fish in our waters we oblegate to publish every picture of a caught Danube Salmon.So we invite you to join our hall of fame.All you need to do is to send a picture and some details (name,second name,lenght,weight,time place,..) on our adress.
Fishing is allowed from Soteska dam near Obrne to Cajhen Dam near Lancovo and includes Trophy Part. Catch & release only.
Authorised licence dealers: Fauna Fly Fishing, Cesta svobode 12, Bled or Garni pension "Pr Bevc", Bohinjska Bela 97/a.
Fishing season opens on 15. November and closes on 14. February. Name and second name of an escorting member of the fishing club Bled must allso be presented when buying a licence.
